So Starletinc.com is replacing both Starletviews.com and Starletlinks.com, focusing on editorials and CD reviews instead of news which no one is interested in anyway. Don’t expect updates according to a fixed schedule, I’ll post something when I feel like it. While the other two sites were at some point intended to be big visitor number sites this one isn’t. I decided it’s not worth the effort to try and do it if it’s not going to work anyway.
So why even do the site in the first place? Simple answer is probably that there are too many morons running sites out on the internet. Somehow the bulk of the celebrity blogs have become about hatred and scandals (that usually aren’t scandals) and I’m personally sick of it. There are of course ones that are serious and don’t post things to get as many hits as possible but they are overshadowed.
I work from the principle that I don’t hate any celebrity. There might be ones whose work I don’t enjoy or who do things in their personal lives that I’ll never understand. That however does not mean that I’m going out of my way and try to destroy their careers by ruining their reputation. I enjoy seeing people who succeed at something, I don’t enjoy seeing them fail. Sadly we’ve gotten to a point where people actually enjoy seeing failure. I’m not a Perez Hilton or a Tim Ocean who just spread any rumor which they know is false but post it anyway, hits are all that matters. I will focus on things that matter and write about them once in a while though posts can be in a slightly different style than before. Sometimes there can also be a bit of frustration about certain things in there.
Don’t expect a running start for the site though, I will probably post some CD reviews in the near future or I might even post something today, who knows. It’s not like there is a large crowd of returning visitors, I have ways of reaching the people who used to frequent the site. I don’t care about large visitor numbers (though I know there is an ad banner there, can’t hurt to try and get a little compensation for costs in there).
As to the name change, that comes from the idea that more and more people see celebrities as businesses. In a way they are but I don’t see them that way, to me they’re still people. So quite the opposite of the name of the site but it gets the point across in a way.
