Noticed something lately? Seems like there is a sort of new trend coming along, teen stars with tattoos. No, Miley Cyrus isn’t the only teen star with a tattoo, though I think she might be the only one with two of them. I’m not talking about Justin Bieber either seeing he just doesn’t belong on this site, despite people often saying that he sounds like a girl.

So without doing real research into it (I don’t see why I should find as many tattoos as possible), not even going to post pictures of them, if you want to see the tattoos go Google them. So yeah, Miley Cyrus probably has the best known examples with her “Just Breathe” tattoo on her ribcage. Of course people tried to turn that into a tittie tat as they called it but that it might have a deeper meaning didn’t really matter.

It is somewhat funny though, when Miley was discovered to have a tattoo there it was all how could her parents let her get that and how inappropriate the location was. Now that it turns out that Demi Lovato has a tattoo in a similar location (though I don’t know what it says) there seems to be nothing at all. Or maybe I just have a sharper eye than the generic gossip press. Miley and Demi are seventeen though, that Ali Lohan at sixteen has a tattoo on her back (same one as her older sister actually) is also far less of a scandal than I would expect.

Now here is the thing, you can’t get a tattoo until you’re eighteen years old unless you parental consent. So yeah, their parents are fine with it and those are the people who matter in that. So other people can’t tell them that they’re wrong to be getting those tattoos, only their parents have that right.

Now the way I personally feel about tattoos is that I’m fine with them. However what I’ll never understand is people who get them just because they’re cool, to me it makes more sense that if you put something on your body for the rest of your life, it should have a deeper meaning. While I don’t know why Ali and Demi got their tattoos, the meaning behind Miley’s tattoos is quite well known as she has explained them. The one on her ribcage is related to people she has lost to lung disease and the Love tattoo in her ear is to symbolize that she only lets love in her ear. So there is a meaning behind them and if she and her parents feel that she won’t regret them in the future, why shouldn’t she get it?

If people are all of a sudden afraid that tons of teenagers will be getting tattoos now that the likes of Miley and Demi have them, there is something wrong there. Tattoos should be as mentioned, personal. If someone gets a tattoo just because they’re a fan, they’re not really listening to their idol. In a sense doing the exact opposite of what the likes of Miley do, instead of emulating their idol they are going against them.

So yeah, celebrities don’t get tattoos at that age just because they’re cool, they wouldn’t be able to get away with it. That they still get crap for it just because they’re celebrities (well mainly Miley in this case) and they don’t bother to find out what it stands for first. Though I have no doubt that they know that they will get that, they still go ahead with, that would also show quite a strong feeling in getting them.l

Though it’s also amusing how the main press didn’t notice Miley’s ear tattoo until a couple of days ago, while it has been clearly visible since early May. So for once they’re actually giving something to write about and they don’t take it but go ahead with non-existing stories.

So what is the point of this blog? I don’t really know, seemed like a better idea at the time that I started writing it. I guess the main conclusion is that celebrities really aren’t going to get a tattoo at seventeen years old just because they think they’re cool. Isn’t being a celebrity already cool enough?

Jailbait: a girl under the age of consent with whom sexual intercourse is unlawful and constitutes statutory rape.

So who’s worth it going to jail for? Here’s our top ten.

10. Miranda Cosgrove: She’s got a nice pair of legs on her but there’s not much else to her. Who knows, she’s only fifteen so who knows what the next couple of years will bring.

9. Emma Roberts: Another nice pair of legs and a cute smile. But she turns eighteen in February so she has no longevity on the list. So just being patient would remove the risks of jailtime.

8. Sofia Vassilieva: People might wonder why she is on this list; she’s not really a starlet that gets a lot of attention except for positive critical reviews. However she did a movie where she had to shave her head; no hair whatsoever. Makes you wonder, did she limit it to her head? It gets the imagination going.

7. AnnaSophia Robb: She’s a cute girl, no way around it. That combined with her latest movie where she smokes in a seductive way earns her a spot in our top ten.

6. Ali Lohan: Her boobs are big enough to spark a plastic surgery rumor and she’s only fourteen years old. That combined with her revealing way of dressing on her show Living Lohan shows a lot of promise for the future; especially seeing she already auditioned for a porn producer.

5. Dakota Fanning: Has been out of the picture for a while, she did a rape movie which didn’t get as much attention as she wanted. Now she’s coming back with a vengeance, in Push she’ll be wearing short skirts. What gets her up to number five however is that she joined her high schools cheerleading squad. Who hasn’t had fantasies about high school cheerleaders?

4. Emily Osment: She doesn’t get the attention she deserves, over the past year she has developed quite a bit in her bust area which sparks some interest from people. She gets a lot of screentime as well and seeing the new season of Hannah Montana promises to be more grown up we should be seeing some nicer outfits. The Hannah Montana movie will probably do the same.

3. Selena Gomez: Hot latina; that’s as much as you can say about her really. So why bother wasting words on it.

2. Miley Cyrus: with the leaked pictures of the past year a lot of the mystery has been taken away which is a pity. She still has an amazing pair of legs and is starting to develop in other areas and she’s only fifteen; she’ll be a forced to be reckoned with. Though a year ago she was dressing more revealing; she’s toned down a bit which is a pity and cost her the top spot.

1. Taylor Momsen: Hot leggy blonde; what else do you want? A seductive look in her eyes with dark eyeliner to increase the effect. Short dresses with straps almost sliding of her shoulders and that at an age of barely fifteen and that while she doesn’t even look her age, what else could you want? There’s just no one out there that can beat her right now.

And now seriously; do you really think we’re going to rank teen celebrities on how hot they are? Of course not but the problem is that a lot of people do, these girls are no wear the legal age and adult people wish they could be in their pants. I’ve pointed out before that some of these girls are dressing above their age. It’s mainly the media and the people that are sexualizing them though, it’s a normal fact that teenagers like to dress up sexy at some point. The thing with these Hollywood girls is just that when you have professionally style hair and make up; they don’t exactly look their age. Just show a person who doesn’t know Taylor Momsen a pic of her at an official event. Just see how many people will guess that she’s only fifteen years old.

There are image forums around the internet where pictures of celebrities are shared. Last year these forums had rules that stated that pictures of celebrities under the age of fourteen weren’t allowed. Then however Miley Cyrus came along and she wore short dresses a couple of times and got some attention. After the comments got out of hand and were far too inappropriate at least two of the bigger image forums actually changed their rules to no pictures of celebrities under the age of sixteen.

Then there is the pedobear thing. Most people won’t have heard about it probably but it’s a growing thing around the internet. When something is considered sexy and the person it is about is a minor the pedo bear is pulled into it. Though I have to admit that the pedobear thing is mostly used in good fun; nothing bad is meant by it. It does show a general tendency to sexualize minors though.

It’s just something that’s in our society though; it’s not like it can be changed though it might just be a phase. The image forums changing their rules is only a stopgap measure anyway; Miley turns sixteen in a month.

It’s been a while now since <em>Living Lohan</em> aired on TV; during it’s short run (it was only a nine episode season, whether it will be back is unknown) it got quite some attention in the media though a lot of it was mockery. I also mocked the reality show about the life of <em>Dina Lohan</em> and her kids; though mainly about the reality part seeing there was none, the show was a bit too clearly scripted. The main purpose of the show however was to launch <em>Ali Lohan’s</em> career. So how did that go?<!–more–>

The only thing we’ve seen since then is the straight to DVD movie <em>Mostly Ghostly</em> based on a book by <em>R.L. Stine</em>. I never have high expectations of straight to DVD movies but sometimes they actually turn out to be fairly decent. Sadly Mostly Ghostly is not; the lead character is plain old annoying and I don’t even know why Ali is on the cover of the DVD; she’s nothing more than a support character. In fact she only serves as eye candy for teenage boys watching this movie would be my guess. Her appearance doesn’t really excel good acting either though that’s a problem with most of the people in the movie. So not exactly a career highlight Ali.

Next up in her movie career is supposed to be Troll; a remake of a rather bad 80′s fantasy movie which has a bit of a cult following. There hasn’t been any news on the projects for months so I’m starting to doubt whether this project actually has enough backing to go through. The only thing this project has gotten Ali so far is jokes about her having auditioned for a porn producer who’s venturing out into more conventional movie making. It’s not like he can cast her for any other of his projects in the next four years so the jokes are a bit pointless. Who knows what will happen in this four years, her acting career isn’t going anywhere quickly yet so it can’t hurt to have a backup plan.

The main focus of Living Lohan however was her music career; they followed her how she recorded songs in Las Vegas. Since Living Lohan only All The Way Around was released and that was with little success. The supposedly official music video which was nothing more than a bunch of clips from Living Lohan badly cut together didn’t help it either. I was actually expecting an album to follow soon after the single was released. There were some fake track listings online for a while but never anything official. So what happened to all the recordings from Ali’s visit to Las Vegas? I highly doubt she only recorded a single song.

She does have a record deal with Maloof Music which is part of Interscope Records so there should be something coming out at some point. That nothing has been released so far suggests to me that what they have simply isn’t good enough, that they need to return to the studio. She’s going the same way as her sister in that department. Lindsay has been talking about and supposedly recording an album since she came out of rehab really. We’ve only seen one single of her so far and the given release dates weren’t reached. In either case it’s a case of I believe there is an album when it’s released.

There was also a rumor going around about well known music manager <em>Johnny Wright</em> being interested in taking Ali under his wing. This rumor was fueled by a statement from Dina Lohan saying that they were meeting with his form. That statement however was quickly followed by a statement from Johnny Wright’s firm saying that they never had any interest in Ali. It’s always impossible to tell who’s speaking the truth in a case like that; it’s probably an on the fly statement from Dina which was taken way out of proportion. A company meeting with someone doesn’t always mean that they have an interest in that person.

That is however the only headline her music career has made lately and it’s not exactly a good one seeing she’s being rejected by a major company. That doesn’t mean that her career will fail it’s just something that makes me feel confident that her career will succeed. Living Lohan didn’t do that either because it implied a bad work ethic on Ali’s part. She never seemed as someone who’s really committed to a career like that. They couldn’t cut out all the whining even on her first day of recording.

Ali has been named as someone people should look out for in the future but I’m just not seeing it. Her efforts so far just aren’t good enough. Though I have to admit it’s a bit unfair to judge someone who basically just started her career but she’s asking for it. They felt they needed Living Lohan to improve Ali’s chances for a career so far it hasn’t worked but only put her under more scrutiny. Right now she’s still nothing more than Lindsay Lohan’s sister who tries to make use of her spotlight.

Sometimes you really have to wonder about tabloid journalism. I can somewhat understand there being rumors once in a while; people for some reason want to read completely made up rumors and they actually enjoy it. In some cases however rumors simply don’t make sense; often rumors are based on quotes from interviews or random pictures. When you’re dealing with minors once in a while rumors come along that simply can’t be true because if they were true it would be illegal.

Lets take the rumor that popped up yesterday which started with a picture on X17 I believe; Ali Lohan has gotten breast implants. I have to admit, Ali has shown sudden growth in her chest department. Recently there were also rumors that she had her lips enhanced where again I have to admit that they seem bigger in pictures. Though clips from Living Lohan pretty much suggest to me that it has been achieved by wearing far too much make up. Though I can’t really blame people for believing the lip injection rumor.

There however are several things that make the breast implant rumor complete nonsense, the main one being she’s only fourteen years old. Before a plastic surgeon would operate on someone they would make sure that they’re fully grown. If a plastic surgeon would actually do it the moron would have to be thrown in jail and have his or her license pulled.

Any plastic surgeon who values their license and has some brain cells in their head (I’m assuming they have seeing they went through medical school) would never operate on a fourteen year old unless there was actual medical reason to do so; Ali is fourteen and not fully grown yet. The same thing was going on with her big sister; when Lindsay Lohan was about sixteen years old, a lot of people believed she had gotten breast implants. I’m one of the people that doesn’t believe she ever had implants; Lindsay’s weight fluctuated quite a bit over the years and her chest size fluctuated just as much. Not really evidence of breast implants.

With Ali there might have been a little weight gain but what’s most likely is just nature. Ali has gotten more exposure than ever with Living Lohan and she clearly has a smaller chest on that show. Thing just is that that show was shot months ago, maybe even as much as half a year ago. When a girl is fourteen a lot can happen in six months so now that people compare her one on one with the Ali from Living Lohan there is a difference. Even though I personally don’t think the difference is that big; a different angle on a photograph can make a big difference. Living Lohan did show that Ali likes to show off her body, so it’s not really surprising now that she had a growth spurt in that area she’s showing it.

It doesn’t mean she got little balloons of silicone inserted into her chest but it just means she has gotten older. Even though it’s a considerable growth. For her sake we now have to hope that she has some more growth because if she doesn’t there will be even more implant rumors. personally don’t think it will matter in a couple of years seeing I still don’t see her making it in Hollywood.

The second rumor is from a couple of months ago and it involves Miley Cyrus shortly after she had her questionable Vanity Fair photo shoot. Reports were showing up that Hugh Heffner offered Miley to pose for Playboy which of course is just as ridiculous as it sounds seeing it would be highly illegal. Playboy might be more soft core as far as adult magazines are concerned but naked pictures of a fifteen year old would still be illegal. I think this isn’t really that bad a rumor for Miley; I think it’s far more negative towards Hugh Heffner.

All Hugh Heffner did was answer a question from a journalist; he was asked whether or not he would let Miley be in Playboy. He gave the only answer he could have given, he said that she’s a pretty girl and when she’s eighteen he wouldn’t say no. What else was he supposed to say? That she’s an ugly girl and that he would never let her be in Playboy? People would cry outrage about that just as much. It’s just sad to see that the media take a quote like that and completely take it out of its context. There’s a major difference between someone saying it on his own accord and answering a question from a journalist.

The gossip press just like to drag things out of context. In some cases it’s using a single picture as proof of plastic surgery on growing girls and in other cases it’s just a case of completely misquoting people. I guess we as readers just have to filter out the sense from the nonsense. In some cases they really must think their readers are morons though, with some logical thinking you can already tell what rumors just can’t be true. Sad thing is that there are still plenty of people that are willing to believe them, doesn’t matter how ridiculous they are.

A lot of things have been said about the privacy of celebrities, the main thing about it is that they simply have none. Which is a sad thing really but also something every celebrity knows before they go into the business. They know that paparazzi are always around and that every single thing they do is put under a microscope. However times do change, where it was possible for some celebrities to have a bit of a private life in the past those days seem to have completely passed.

I’m fully aware of the fact that sites like this one contribute to the lack of privacy, I won’t suggarcoat it, though I don’t see the point in reporting on their daily activities like some other sites do. The internet is what changed the privacy of celebrities considerably though, things are reported the very same day while in the past it went through the slower media outlets TV or even slower the tabloids. In the case of those media selections were made, things not deemed important enough were simply ignored. These days it doesn’t matter, even the small things are reported. I also think that the many websites on the internet have also caused a growth in the number of paparazzi looking for the next prize shot.

People will mainly think about people like Britney Spears and to a lesser extent Lindsay Lohan who are being followed around by an entire armada of paparazzi. I always thought it was a matter of supply and demand, the supply of Britney and Lindsay pictures must be enormous but still paparazzi get paid a lot for them. The pressure on them from the media is enormous, but you also shouldn’t forget that they didn’t have that much media pressure on them when they were younger.

Perez Hilton didn’t start his activities until 2005, X17online didn’t go online until 2006 and TMZ.com isn’t that old either. If you visited that site a couple of years ago you would get a site about a Battlebot named Frenzy. So when the likes of Lindsay and Britney were in their growing stages there was far less media coverage. When Lindsay turned 18 youtube.com didn’t even exist yet, things move quickly on the internet.

The generation of celebrities that’s in their teens now have far more media pressure on them than the “older” generation. Jamie-Lynn Spears is lucky that her sister is Britney takes a lot of pressure away from her, despite being pregnant. That and the fact that she’s in Louisiana right now, not too many (though there are a few) paparazzi out there.

Someone who probably has more to deal with the media at a young age than anyone else before is probably Miley Cyrus (yes I’m using her as an example again, I could use someone else but why if she serves as the best example). It’s quite a statement to make but unless Aliana Lohan manages to get her career of the ground (just being the sister of isn’t enough) within the year I’ll stick by that statement until the next big teen star comes along and actually becomes more popular than Miley, which seems to be close to impossible right now.

Now that Miley is back from her record breaking tour she can be spotted around Hollywood more than before (which will probably become an even more frequent thing once she gets her permit in two months), so she also gets spotted more by the paparazzi. Which is fine with me as long as they don’t get too pushy or as I mentioned before go seeking her out too much.

Last week however there was something which made me wonder, how far can you go with breaking into someones privacy and how many secrets can a celebrity like Miley actually keep? Earlier this year there was some commotion because Miley used a body double in her concert tour, the official statement was that she needed more time for a costume change. I didn’t quite understand it either because it seemed simple enough to let the Johans Brothers play an extra song (though I think that argument still stands but I’m not discussing that right now).

It was never mentioned that there’s a second reason for the body double; Miley had to go off stage to eat. Nobody outside her inner circle knew back then that Miley is hypoglycaemic. For people that don’t know it’s a medical disorder which causes low blood sugar at times. It’s very manageable and it’s treated easily enough by eating in time. Miley mentioned this in a recent radio interview, she never mentioned it before as far as I know. No idea how serious her form of hypoglycaemia is but that doesn’t matter anyway. She has been seen wearing a medical alert tag recently, people don’t wear a medical alert tag without reason. Even though we don’t actually know that’s what she’s wearing it for, I don’t even have to know to be honest. Though there’s also the rumour that it’s to support Nick Jonas who has diabetis, but a hypoglycaemic wearing a diabetes alert tag would pretty much be the dumbest thing you can do. Seeing it’s almost the exact opposite.

What worries me is that she felt the need to mention it, if she had mentioned it right way people of course might have been more understanding and they wouldn’t have made that big a fuss about the body double. I can understand why she never mentioned it before, medical conditions (doesn’t matter how serious they are) are something very private. It shouldn’t be something that has to be revealed to excuse something that doesn’t even matter. Using a body double for two minutes out of a ninety minute concert (where she actually sings live, something that can’t be said for a lot of singers) shouldn’t create such a commotion. I’m quite sure it wouldn’t have been such a big deal ten years ago.

Though Miley is a very open person as it is, she shares a lot of her personal life through her fansite (with almost daily diary and video updates as far as I know) and through her new youtube she started a couple of weeks ago (about just being a silly teen really). Seems like there isn’t really a need to go digging for more. I have no doubt that she’ll become one of the most popular paparzzi targets in the future just because she’s so popular. They all want to be there when (though I would say it’s if) she falls.

Though Miley will hardly be their only target, there are plenty of other people out in Hollywood and it’s a bit risky to put everything on one person. Looking at the development of the media over the past ten years I just wonder what will happen to the new generation of celebrities ten years from now.

So what’s the point of this editorial? None really, just an observation. There’s nothing I can change about the attention celebrities are getting.
