Miley does it again (uncensored)

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Here we go again with another Miley Cyrus scandal. There have been pictures leaked and one of them shows Miley wearing nothing but a plaid shirt. It doesn’t show her face but it’s pretty clear that it’s her (though there is no 100% guarantee) and it pretty much shows her naked (at the time she was still 17). Arguments as to not being able to see her tattoo don’t hold up because the image is mirrored. So yes, Miley has gotten herself into another scandal, or hasn’t she?

See here is the thing. The pictures came from a phone that was stolen together with a private camera when she had a party last week (though this is still somewhat of a speculation out there, it seems the most logical explanation, one fact remains, content was stolen, the way how doesn’t really matter). So we have someone who steals something and then goes spreading its contents around the internet. Not just that but something which according to the law is child pornography (even if only barely).

What the fuck is wrong with people? You are invited into a home and what do you do? You steal stuff. Not just that but then you go on to spread the stolen items with the intent of hurting someone? I’m not quite sure how to describe a person like that but they will never get any respect from me. In fact I’d question if I should even call them human beings because a heart and a conscience is something they don’t have. (more…)

Rising Starlets 2010

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

Like every year; here is the annual list of the young stars in Hollywood who I think have been doing a good job at building their careers. So a combination of past current success, mixed with things coming up in the future. A lot of it is my gut telling me things about how I feel about it, so I am biased. I don’t expect anyone to agree with me regarding this list but you know what? I don’t care, it’s my list so I stand by it. Though I have to admit; I had a hard time coming up with ten names. A lot of teen stars failed to impress this year and there isn’t that much new blood coming at the moment; seems like there is a bit of a gap between generations at the moment. (more…)

Happy Birthday to the Biggest Teen Star of All Time

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

It was 6574 days ago that Miley Cyrus was born, so what does that mean? That means that the biggest teen star of all time is now officially a legal adult at the age of 18. It sort of fits that it’s towards the end of a year where she ends one part of her carer and goes forward to the next part of her career. Though it would be more fitting if Disney actually had a decent airing schedule on the last season of Hannah Montana.

The woman (we have to call her that now really) has achieved a lot in those eighteen years. Don’t worry, I’m not going to name everything as most people who would be reading this would mostly know what they are. She’s done a lot and made a lot of money doing it; despite all the prejudice that exists regarding Miley. Unfair prejudice I have to add.

When you see Miley in interviews you see a sweet and humble girl and that is what people who have worked with her also say. Fans that have met her say the same thing (of course there are always the disappointed ones who don’t get that she can’t meet every single person when there’s 200 of them around, she has a life you know). She also likes sarcasm which a lot of people sadly don’t get and likes to joke in general really. (more…)

Disney Channel Has a Problem

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

I think Disney Channel has a problem. No, I don’t think it will cease to exist but I do believe that there will be a bit of a low coming along. They might have to get used to lower ratings and less viewers. Everyone knows that Hannah Montana was a big thing for them and that is ending but it’s not the only thing.

Hannah Montana is of course much more than the TV show, you just have to take a look around certain stores and you’ll know why. That won’t die down completely right away after the show of course but it will go down, there is no other way. There will be endless repeats no doubt as well but a network like the Disney Channel also needs new things to air. That’s where the problem is.

Jonas LA has already been canceled (though that show never managed to score big), Wizards of Waverly Place just started its last season and who knows what will happen to Sonny With a Chance. They don’t know how long Demi Lovato will be out of the running and that’s why they are considering to rework it. The idea of turning it more into a real So Random, meaning a sketch show is a bad idea, you just have to look at the Halloween episode to know that it is. The concept of not having the naming character on the show is an odd one anyway. (more…)

So Undercover

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

So yesterday I said to a couple of people that I was a bit worried about Miley Cyrus‘ career. Might seem like an odd moment to do so seeing all the news regarding Miley right now is personal stuff but I already said how I feel about that the other day. The thing is I just felt like nothing is happening, sure there are quite a few movies listed for her but what is their production status exactly? Main thing was the project So Undercover which was sort of announced a while ago and was said to start shooting this month. How can there be a movie without any real announcement?

So I go to bed and wake up to an announcement about the movie, that’s what I call timing; as if someone was spying on me (though I doubt I as an individual matters). Also the reason why I’m writing this blog, I feel like there should be a blog that should focus on something else than Miley’s private life at the moment. The other reason is the first reactions I saw to this online, not so much from website but more from random people. Apparently everything Miley does is bad, etc. The not giving Miley a chance is a running theme around the internet really. One of the main issues people seem to have is the no big studio involvement.

So what? There are so many movies that don’t start out with studio involvement. A project being picked up at a later time is very normal. Granted I had never heard of the company that’s funding it either; Executive Media Group. So where does the money for that company come from? A Dutch investment group backed by large companies and people (well, one huge person in entertainment really). So no, this is not some empty project. They are also a production company; it will be produced together with two other companies; Scarlet Fire Entertainment and Hope Town Entertainment. Scarlet Fire is run by the people who wrote the movie script Allan Loeb and Steven Pearl. Now those aren’t no-names. Allan Loeb wrote movies like 21 and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, so movies that did pretty well at the box office. Steven Pearl isn’t exactly inexperienced either. (more…)
