Just a few things to say

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Right now the internet is swarming with all sorts of blogs and articles about Demi Lovato going into a treatment facility, Miley Cyrus’ parents getting divorced and breaking up with her boyfriend. Ever celebrity site is writing about them. Well, I’m not going to (I am aware that in writing this I actually am but you get the point). These are things that are none of my business. No, they aren’t good things but I don’t have a right to spread all sorts of things about it.

I don’t know the circumstances, I don’t know why those things happen and most of all they are things that should be handled in private. They are things that are tough enough on people like Miley and Demi as it is, they should be granted the peace and quiet to deal with things themselves without the media interfering. The same goes for the fan and hater communities out there (though why someone would want to be part of a hater community I don’t know), they should take a step back and give them space.

So no, this blogger isn’t going to spend any more time on it. They deserve their privacy and these are things that aren’t anyone’s business; they are things they have to deal with on their own. It’s bad enough that so many people already are involving themselves with it.

Schrödinger’s Miley

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Erwin Schrödinger hypothesized that if you put a cat in a chamber together with a device to kill said cat. The device would be timed by a radioactive isotope, so the exact time of the cat’s death is uncertain. Does this make Erwin Schrödinger an animal killer? No, he never actually did it, it’s a thought experiment in quantum mechanics. What it means is that the cat is both dead and alive at the same time because we are unable to observe it in the closed chamber.

No, I’m not posting a blog on the wrong page, this actually reminded me of how the media reports on celebrities. As such they have nothing to do with each other, the subjects couldn’t be further apart. However there is some logic to my little brain fart. To make it clear I’m going to use Miley Cyrus as an example but it could apply to any other celebrity; Miley is just the easiest to apply it to.

The view people have of celebrities is done through observation, we see a celebrity and we see what they do. However, there is so much we don’t see. In fact, doesn’t matter how much we see of a celebrity, how much we think we know about their lives, they are still a closed chamber. As such we don’t truly know what kind of person they are, we can only make an educated guess. (more…)

Review: Hannah Montana Forever

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Did you realize that it actually has been over a year since the release of the previous Hannah Montana soundtrack? Kind of odd thinking about it, looking at what pace they used to be pushed out. Fits with the Disney stretching Hannah Montana as long as it can, though I’ve gone over the problems with that before. Anyway now it’s time for the fourth (fifth if you count the movie soundtrack) and last soundtrack; Hannah Montana Forever. So after this, Miley Cyrus recording albums as Hannah Montana will be a part of history. Bit strange really, seventeen year old artist and you know for sure it’s their last album ever. Imaginary artist but odd nonetheless. (more…)

Judgment

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

I don’t know why but it bothers me more and more how people talk about celebrities online. Of course I don’t know if it’s like that for all celebrities but especially with Miley Cyrus I have noticed things. In all reality, the girl can’t do anything right and I’m not talking about the media right now. She’ll never be able to do anything right according to some of them, we’re already used to that. This is just about the people who consider themselves fans (though the term fan isn’t a clear one anyway, everyone does it in their own way).

It is part of the whole people involve themselves way too much in celebrity lives. What they think they know about them and know what is going on exactly. So apparently the song Every Rose Has Its Thorn is going to be her next single and of course the theories as to why that song start right away. Some people think it’s a mistake and start blaming people for making the mistake, some people think it’s brilliant.

The thing is that decisions like this aren’t made in a minute or by just one single person. Yes, I do believe that someone like Miley has a lot of say in the choices that are made in her career, however she’s not alone. There are managers, record label, her parents and who knows who else involved. Decisions like that are made through a lot of talking and involving a lot of people. So there are bound to be solid reasons as to why a choice like that is made. Is it the right choice? Who knows, time will tell. We also don’t know what the intended goal of the choice is. You don’t have to like a choice but it’s nothing to get upset about. We don’t know the plan about it, so just wait and see how everything goes. (more…)

Celebrity Obsession

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Question: Am I too pre-occupied with the lives of celebrities? I write a blog about them so what do you think? I also have over 200,000 high quality celebrity pictures on my hard drive and a lot of HD videos. Seems obsessive? Maybe it is but I also see it as a hobby. Some people collect stamps, I collect things like that.

People can have an interest in celebrities and read a lot about them, save their pictures, it depends on how you deal with it to be honest. In my case I don’t think it’s really that much of a bad thing to be honest. As long as I keep my attitude respectful towards them I don’t see harm in it.

Now when I look around the internet I have to say that not everyone is that way. Not just talking about the celebrity bloggers who feel they can write anything they want, because they don’t know the celebrities anyway so what is the harm in writing crap about them? If a story turns out to be false why would we correct it (if they don’t, people like Miley feel the need to do it for them)? They’re human, that’s why but I’ve gone over that many times. (more…)
