Who is the Biggest Disney Star?

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

It’s in the media, around the internet, it’s everywhere. The constant debate of who is the bigger and better Disney star, is it Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez or Demi Lovato? Lets find out.

What can we compare them on? All three of them are active in the same segments of entertainment really, they each have their own Disney Channel show, they have a record deal with Hollywood Records and they do movies. So it should be quite easy to compare them on things, also included will be things like awards of course seeing that is everything the entertainment industry revolves around. We’ll even include some less obvious categories towards the end but we have to be thorough. Points will be awarded, 5 points for a victory, 3 points for a second place and 1 point for the last place. Rising Starlets 2009

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

So I have this opinion on all sorts of lists that keep showing up around the internet. They are all pointless, who is best? That is something people usually make up for themselves, you can’t exactly be told who is best by some random person. That still is a personal opinion from that single person. Here I’m talking about all the blogs and sites that make random lists, usually not consulting any kind of vote though those are quite pointless as well. So what to do, those lists will keep showing up around the internet.

Simple enough solution, here is the annual list of rising starlets so now the 2009 edition. So young actresses and musicians in Hollywood who I feel have done the most improvement in their career rated by projects, popularity etc. Yes, it is full of my opinion so no one can tell me I’m wrong. Here we go. (more…)

The Double Standard Rant

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

I can honestly say that I’m getting sick of these double standards in the world of entertainment, especially regarding young celebrities. Now I’m not in the business of attacking someone just to prove a point regarding someone else. So this shouldn’t be seen as an attack (because it isn’t) but just to illustrate a double standard.

We all know by now that Miley Cyrus is the favorite “bad girl” of almost every celebrity gossip site or blog. Anyone who has ever seen this site knows that I have a soft spot for her, that however doesn’t change that I can be objective if I have to be. Especially seeing I don’t actually hate any celebrity, I might be less fond of others but when you don’t like someone, you don’t have to watch their movies, tv shows or listen to their music.

So Miley Cyrus has ten piercings and a tattoo, the horror. Last time I checked that isn’t illegal even though some gossip bloggers maintain that it is; it’s called parental consent. That apparently makes her a bad girl, that she keeps staying humble and that everyone who works with her seems to love her, doesn’t seem to matter. Yes there are a lot of paparazzi pictures of her but is she ever actually doing something bad in them? Not exactly, you can’t find her at a nightclub in the middle of the night. The one story TMZ posted that she was refused at a night club was already proven as being false by the night club owners. Would be a bit of a suicide for a business to be known for breaking a customer’s privacy (even though she wasn’t actually a customer). (more…)

Review: Selena Gomez & The Scene: Kiss & Tell

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

kissandtellcoverSelena Gomez has her first CD out. Oh sorry, I’m supposed to say Selena Gomez & The Scene, as Selena wanted to be a band effort instead of pure solo. Probably why she finished recording the album before the band was formed and putting her own name in the band name. Though lets not hold things like that against her, in the end it’s the music that matters so here is “their “ debut album Kiss & Tell. (more…)

Review: Wizards of Waverly Place

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

wizards of waverly place soundtrackThis week the Wizards of Waverly Place soundtrack came out, even though Selena Gomez only has three songs on it (plus the theme song) it’s mostly about her. She has a record deal herself after all. I still have my doubts about that though, seeing she once said she wanted it to be a band effort. She didn’t want to do it alone. So very logically she finished recording the album before meeting her band. So now to the album, this is a soundtrack so we have to keep in mind that the music should match the show. (more…)
