So The Pretty Reckless released an EP, I was actually sort of looking forward to it. I rather enjoy that Make Me Wanna Die song, made me think that Taylor Momsen is a better musician that people give her credit for. Now as said the EP which has the same name as the band, The Pretty Reckless. Now I know that an EP is supposed to be short but only four songs? Seems a bit too short for the time she seems to have been working on it. I don’t know when the first album is supposed to come out so I’m guessing it’s mostly meant to fill the void between Make Me Wanna Die being on the Kick-Ass sound track and their album release. Review: The Pretty Reckless
June 29th, 2010I don’t get Disney
June 29th, 2010I don’t get Disney. Well, mainly I don’t get the Disney Channel. So yeah, I don’t work in the business or do I have inside sources, I’m only an outside observer. I’m a consumer though, I see what they do and what they release and I get an impression of the company through that. Impressions can be important for a company image and whether a company will be or will remain successful. Going by the programming of Disney Channel right now I actually think that their ratings can only go down right now.
Here is the thing, Hannah Montana as a show is winding down as everyone knows, the last season has been wrapped and now all that remains is to air the remaining episodes. That’s already the first problem, the fourth season of Hannah Montana only has something like fourteen episodes which will start airing in July. The last episode however won’t be aired until well into 2011, how does that work? Like always really, erratic airing schedules. Something that Disney does to all their shows but none as bad as Hannah Montana.
Hannah Montana has done a lot for Disney, it has made them a lot of money, got them a lot of viewers. So the show is something that should be treated with respect, let it end in a proper way. I don’t know what the season will be like but there is only one real way to end it properly, give the show a solid last run. Just get it over with and air the episodes in a nice steady pace, best even once a week. I know I’m not the only one who feels that way, a lot of people do. Disney however wants to milk the product as long as possible and will drag it on forever. That’s not how to keep viewers interested and that’s how you’re supposed to end a show that has done so much for you. Read the rest of this entry »
Miley Cyrus the Trainwreck
June 22nd, 2010So yeah, it seems that like with Miley Cyrus’ album release the cry outs that Miley is a trainwreck are getting louder and louder. The girl is so out of control and has no idea what she’s doing and who knows what. That’s what the people think, that’s what the media says. I only have one question for them: Why?
As I gather it from the media right now, this is all based on only a few things. Main one being her clothing choices. Yes, she’s been wearing less lately, mainly on stage. I just don’t get how that would make someone a trainwreck, slut, bitch or whatever name people like to call her. While I myself voiced my worry about it a while ago (for a different reason) it actually has been somewhat removed by what Miley has been saying lately.
No, I still can’t say that I’m completely comfortable with the outfits, however she has spoken about it in the media now on several occasions. She’s comfortable with her body and feels comfortable wearing less in her casual outfits and what she does on stage is just an act, it’s part of her performance. I can live with that explanation as she in no way is telling kids to dress like her. On the contrary, what she’s doing right now is telling people to be themselves and not who other people tell them to be. I would say that that is a good message, not a bad one. That it is expressed by her in a way that is a bit risque, is unfortunate. Read the rest of this entry »
Random Teen Star Tattoos Blog
June 20th, 2010Noticed something lately? Seems like there is a sort of new trend coming along, teen stars with tattoos. No, Miley Cyrus isn’t the only teen star with a tattoo, though I think she might be the only one with two of them. I’m not talking about Justin Bieber either seeing he just doesn’t belong on this site, despite people often saying that he sounds like a girl.
So without doing real research into it (I don’t see why I should find as many tattoos as possible), not even going to post pictures of them, if you want to see the tattoos go Google them. So yeah, Miley Cyrus probably has the best known examples with her “Just Breathe” tattoo on her ribcage. Of course people tried to turn that into a tittie tat as they called it but that it might have a deeper meaning didn’t really matter.
It is somewhat funny though, when Miley was discovered to have a tattoo there it was all how could her parents let her get that and how inappropriate the location was. Now that it turns out that Demi Lovato has a tattoo in a similar location (though I don’t know what it says) there seems to be nothing at all. Or maybe I just have a sharper eye than the generic gossip press. Miley and Demi are seventeen though, that Ali Lohan at sixteen has a tattoo on her back (same one as her older sister actually) is also far less of a scandal than I would expect. Review: Can’t be Tamed
June 17th, 2010
So here we are with a review for Miley Cyrus’ third album Can’t be Tamed, or is it her seventh? I’ve given op on counting those things, seeing some are under Hannah Montana and some ar not. Fact is that she recorded seven full albums and an E.P. And yes, she’s still only seventeen. Anyway, to get any confusion out of the way, this album is pop. People who were expecting rock or anything like that were misinformed. People that say she’s a hypocrite because she says she doesn’t listen to pop music, so what? She also said that she enjoys performing pop music, so get over it. Read the rest of this entry »
