I Don’t Know

January 11th, 2010

There is something that annoys me on the internet, be it on blogs and their comments, on discussion forums and even on sites like Twitter. Thinking about it, it actually also happens in real life when you talk to someone in person, not just on the internet. As this site/blog is about young stars developing their careers it’s about people growing up which makes what annoys me even worse (so that is my own fault in that case). What makes it even worse is that I’m guilty of it myself. It’s that other people feel the need to know what’s best for celebrities and/or who they are or should be.

Yes it sounds vague but there is a point to it, I’m not even going to use an example this time seeing it can apply to pretty much every celebrity out there. I’ve also seen it with many celebrities. One thing I can already conclude from looking at a lot of celebrities; every young celebrity out there is growing up too fast, it has been that way years ago and still is the case now. Is it me or is there a pattern there? The thing is that growing up is based a lot on experiences, your average young celebrity has a lot more experiences at a far younger age than “normal” people. Does that mean I’m saying they’re growing up at a normal pace? No I don’t because I simply don’t know. I believe that growing up is something everyone has to do for themselves, there are a lot of things involved in it.

I don’t actually know any celebrity personally. When people judge these celebrities they pretty much never know them personally either. Someone you see in magazines and interviews might not be the person someone actually is. There are so many things involved in a personality; it’s likely that not everything about that is shown in public. So who am I to say what kind of personality a celebrity has? I can only make an estimate based on what I see, I however can never present it as fact. Read the rest of this entry »

Rising Starlets 2009

December 27th, 2009

So I have this opinion on all sorts of lists that keep showing up around the internet. They are all pointless, who is best? That is something people usually make up for themselves, you can’t exactly be told who is best by some random person. That still is a personal opinion from that single person. Here I’m talking about all the blogs and sites that make random lists, usually not consulting any kind of vote though those are quite pointless as well. So what to do, those lists will keep showing up around the internet.

Simple enough solution, here is the annual list of rising starlets so now the 2009 edition. So young actresses and musicians in Hollywood who I feel have done the most improvement in their career rated by projects, popularity etc. Yes, it is full of my opinion so no one can tell me I’m wrong. Here we go. Read the rest of this entry »

The Double Standard Rant

December 6th, 2009

I can honestly say that I’m getting sick of these double standards in the world of entertainment, especially regarding young celebrities. Now I’m not in the business of attacking someone just to prove a point regarding someone else. So this shouldn’t be seen as an attack (because it isn’t) but just to illustrate a double standard.

We all know by now that Miley Cyrus is the favorite “bad girl” of almost every celebrity gossip site or blog. Anyone who has ever seen this site knows that I have a soft spot for her, that however doesn’t change that I can be objective if I have to be. Especially seeing I don’t actually hate any celebrity, I might be less fond of others but when you don’t like someone, you don’t have to watch their movies, tv shows or listen to their music.

So Miley Cyrus has ten piercings and a tattoo, the horror. Last time I checked that isn’t illegal even though some gossip bloggers maintain that it is; it’s called parental consent. That apparently makes her a bad girl, that she keeps staying humble and that everyone who works with her seems to love her, doesn’t seem to matter. Yes there are a lot of paparazzi pictures of her but is she ever actually doing something bad in them? Not exactly, you can’t find her at a nightclub in the middle of the night. The one story TMZ posted that she was refused at a night club was already proven as being false by the night club owners. Would be a bit of a suicide for a business to be known for breaking a customer’s privacy (even though she wasn’t actually a customer). Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Break Up

October 20th, 2009

BreakUpThis thing snuck up on me a bit, I had no idea that Scarlett Johansson was releasing another album. So this was actually released a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, back in 2006 she recorded an album together wither singer/songwriter Pete Yorn and they now released that album. It has to be pointed out that Scarlett is on the album as a singer, all but one song on the album were written by Pete Yorn. Can’t say that I ever heard Scarlett Johansson talk about ambition as a song writer in any interview anyway. Read the rest of this entry »

Review: All the Right Wrongs

October 20th, 2009

AllTheRightWrongsIt has been a while now since Emily Osment announced that she was working on an album. I was starting to wonder when she would release something, now the time has come that she is releasing something. The EP All the Right Wrongs with only six tracks. Which seems not a lot but looking it’s impossible to know how much time she’s had for it, the focus will be on the music. It’s at least not pretending to be an album, though a play time of 19 minutes seems even short for an EP. Read the rest of this entry »
