So Emily Osment has her first album, Fight or Flight, out and the good news is; none of the songs from her EP made it. Not that the songs were bad, it just prevents people from thinking “wasn’t this just a way to get more money out of it” so at least she takes that seriously. Let me also point out that I’m not going to go into what Emily has said about what she thinks about pop music in the past, the music is pure pop so I will judge it as such. Review: Fight or Flight
October 12th, 2010Judgment
October 6th, 2010I don’t know why but it bothers me more and more how people talk about celebrities online. Of course I don’t know if it’s like that for all celebrities but especially with Miley Cyrus I have noticed things. In all reality, the girl can’t do anything right and I’m not talking about the media right now. She’ll never be able to do anything right according to some of them, we’re already used to that. This is just about the people who consider themselves fans (though the term fan isn’t a clear one anyway, everyone does it in their own way).
It is part of the whole people involve themselves way too much in celebrity lives. What they think they know about them and know what is going on exactly. So apparently the song Every Rose Has Its Thorn is going to be her next single and of course the theories as to why that song start right away. Some people think it’s a mistake and start blaming people for making the mistake, some people think it’s brilliant.
The thing is that decisions like this aren’t made in a minute or by just one single person. Yes, I do believe that someone like Miley has a lot of say in the choices that are made in her career, however she’s not alone. There are managers, record label, her parents and who knows who else involved. Decisions like that are made through a lot of talking and involving a lot of people. So there are bound to be solid reasons as to why a choice like that is made. Is it the right choice? Who knows, time will tell. We also don’t know what the intended goal of the choice is. You don’t have to like a choice but it’s nothing to get upset about. We don’t know the plan about it, so just wait and see how everything goes. Read the rest of this entry »
Celebrity Obsession
September 27th, 2010Question: Am I too pre-occupied with the lives of celebrities? I write a blog about them so what do you think? I also have over 200,000 high quality celebrity pictures on my hard drive and a lot of HD videos. Seems obsessive? Maybe it is but I also see it as a hobby. Some people collect stamps, I collect things like that.
People can have an interest in celebrities and read a lot about them, save their pictures, it depends on how you deal with it to be honest. In my case I don’t think it’s really that much of a bad thing to be honest. As long as I keep my attitude respectful towards them I don’t see harm in it.
Now when I look around the internet I have to say that not everyone is that way. Not just talking about the celebrity bloggers who feel they can write anything they want, because they don’t know the celebrities anyway so what is the harm in writing crap about them? If a story turns out to be false why would we correct it (if they don’t, people like Miley feel the need to do it for them)? They’re human, that’s why but I’ve gone over that many times. Review: A Year Without Rain
September 21st, 2010
Selena Gomez & The Scene released their second album now (though I still have issues accepting them as a band rather than a solo act) titled A Year Without Rain. It fits perfectly in modern albums with its length of ten songs and total play time of 35 minutes. Read the rest of this entry »
Premature Conclusions
September 14th, 2010Oh the world of paparazzi pictures. People draw conclusions based on just a couple of pics and people run with the story. I have to admit, I did as well. When there are pics of Miley Cyrus in her car talking to a police officer and a cop car behind her the whole world concluded: Miley was pulled over. The media reported because she was talking on her cellphone. Read the rest of this entry »
